New Blog Topics and RSS Feeds

As you have noticed some time ago, we have created topics to classify our blog entries. These topics allow you to browse through all our blog posts, not only The Voice123 Team posts, but also all Premium Talents' posts.

These topics were thought to help any person interested in the voice over industry to learn and teach about any voice over topic. As our blog grows, new topics may be added to further categorize entries.

Additionally, we set up RSS feeds for all our blogs. You can automatically receive new posts directly to your RSS reader, which allows you to be up to date with all the valuable information that is posted. RSS feeds can be received for The Voice123 Team Blog, for every Premium Talent Blog, and also for each blog topic. We know this might be new to some of you, that is why we want to let you know how useful RSS feeds are.

I would like to know your comments about these new features, know if they have been useful to you, or how you would make them better.

New Post a Job Forms

We recently released an improved way for talent seekers to post a job on our site. Now we have Basic and Advanced forms to choose from and make things easier for both experienced and new site users.

The Basic form is the form that we have used up to now, where all the job information is simply typed in a text box. The Advanced form now allows users to enter all the job details using drop down menus and check boxes. Both forms have dynamic help boxes to the right. These boxes display information that will help you fill out the forms in an appropiate way. The information changes dynamically as you move through the forms.

This new feature seeks to reduce job leads processing time and increase effectiveness when looking for voice over talents. You can check the new Post a Job forms and let me know what you think. If you have used the forms, I would also like to know your opinion.

Voice123 at the NAB Show

Voice123 recently participated in the NAB Post Production Show in New York City. The Javits Center in Manhattan was the place where thousands of people interested in the world of media production and post production gathered to learn about new technologies and visit a huge exhibition of companies related to this industry.

Voice123 made a large investment in time and money because we believed this to be a great opportunity for our company to be known and finally build and strengthen relationships with clients and talents. Weeks of preparation were needed to ensure the successful participation of Voice123.

The results exceeded our expectations. Our stand was amongst the most visited in the show. We were able to show how our service works in real time, not only to local or national attendees, but also to many internationals. We received excellent feedback from many of our visitors, both from people who knew about us and from those who were just learning about us.

We gave our best during the show and we are sure good things will come from it, not only for us as a company, but also for you as talents and clients.

We want to thank all talents and clients who came to visit our booth. We also want to thank the talents who professionally represented us at the show as Voice123 talents. We hope this is not the last time we work together in these types of events.

Recording Hardware And Software Tips

Our last newsletter presented an overview about recording tools and audio file converter software. We know there is a lot more to say and discuss about this subject, so we want to invite you to let us know your experiences, recommendations, and/or comments regarding this topic.

Share your thoughts with us and other Voice123 voice talents. We are sure many will learn from your ideas, helping them to improve and ultimately take better advantage of Voice123's services.

Highlights from the newsletter:

There are some key elements that can make a difference when answering job leads. One of them is how quickly you can create and send a custom demo to a client.

There are many recording tools available in the market. M-Audio and Digidesign, divisions of Avid Technology Inc., offer many types of products to create professional recordings and audio files.

With a portable recording device you are able to create custom demos almost anywhere and instantly. It is often necessary to convert WAV audio files to MP3 format for easy sharing. There are several MP3 converters or rippers that allow you to do this conversion in a matter of seconds. Musicmatch Jukebox and iTunes are very popular music playing softwares that, among many other features, allow you to convert WAV, MP3, and other audio files, from one format to another.

Additionally, there is lots of software exclusively designed to process those conversions. These programs let you choose the file type and size that you want.

WaysTo Help The Victims Of Hurricane Katrina

Dear Friends,

We all know the terrible situation the victims of Hurricane Katrina are suffering at this time. The Voice123 Team has been discussing several ideas to help.

The following two will be implemented:

1. Donate 20% of every membership in one given day.
2. Place a link to the Red Cross and send an e-mail to encourage people to donate.

We also thought to make it known to not for profit organizations that we have some talents willing to donate their recordings for PSA's. Do you think this is feasible, if not, do you have any other ideas to help.

We look forward to your comments.

New Voice123 Blog

Welcome to our first Voice123 blog post. The topic for this post will be the blog itself, what it will contain, how we created it and what we expect from it.

Some of you may not be familiar with the word "blog". It's actual meaning is derived from "weblog", a journal published on the web with a strong personal perspective of the author. The Voice123 blog will contain posts about site developments, important industry news, the Voice123 Team, advice for customers, and any other type of comment or information we consider is worth sharing with our talents, clients, or anyone else who visits the website.

One of the most important features of the blog is that you are able to post comments on each entry we add. You can add as many comments as you wish and you will be able to read everyone else's comments.

We found that a blog is a great communication tool where we can both learn a lot and make our relationship closer and stronger. In addition, our blog will make Voice123 more interactive and useful. So now you have more reasons to constantly visit our website.

Our blog was born thinking about you. It has been entirely developed by ourselves and, as any other Voice123 feature, will be constantly improving.

Now that you know about our new feature, we would like you to actively participate with your comments and let us know what you think about it and what you would like to see on it in the future.

We hope you take advantage of our blog and enjoy using it.
